Abilene, TX: Five-O said FREEZE!

we arrived for our first-ever show in Abilene, TX today. the town is actually nice enough. it feels how I imagined other Texas towns felt 50 years ago.
a short journey that Baggins and I made from the venue proved worthwhile. we found some abandoned houses that had been taken over by stray cats. most were completely sketched out by our presence, but not this here kitty:

he followed us around for quite a while and kept posing for pictures.
later, a trip to the mall generated a bit of excitement.

Chuck E. Cheese. I am absolutely not above it.

nor is Tony B: merch-guy, spiritual guide
our show was interesting. an assload of Abeline cops arrived at the show just in time for a mid-set Possum Kingdom. after a few of them pumped their fists to “Do Ya Wanna Die?” they halted the show and threatened to arrest us if we played another note. apparently there is a noise ordinance and we were playing an outdoor venue. some quick thinking on part of crewman extraordinaire Duane led us to play 2 more songs acoustic with the crowd singing along, captured below by an audience member. was a good way to wrap up the truncated show and throw a middle finger at Abilene’s finest.
after the show, we made our way to the back lounge for this tour’s first DanceParty. someone even busted out a glowstick!
